Man killed when struck by three hit-and-run drivers in Los Angeles

A man was killed when he was struck by three hit-and-run drivers in South Los Angeles on Sunday night, police said.

The victim, identified as Jose Fuentes, 50, was first struck by a motorcyclist, then two vehicles as he tried to cross a street in the neighborhood of Florence, KABC reported.

“Nobody stopped and helped out Mr. Fuentes as he lay there,” LAPD Detective Ryan Moreno said at a Tuesday press conference.

Moreno said the motorcyclist, who appeared to have briefly lost control off his ride, could have tried to stop traffic, possibly preventing the next two collisions.

“But he elected to get [back] on his motorcycle … and fled the scene,” Moreno said.

By Wednesday, the drivers were still on the lam, according to police.
