Call the thirst trap police.
January Jones clapped back at the National Enquirer after getting word of the tabloid’s plan to write an article about her “desperate” bikini-clad Instagram posts.
On Tuesday, the 42-year-old actress posted a screenshot of an email that offered her team the opportunity to provide a statement about her sexy snaps.
“The National Enquirer is preparing to publish a story which reports January Jones has worried friends with her series of attention-grabbing bikini pictures and social media posts,” the email began.
“Sources claim her content smacks of a ‘desperate cry for attention’ and note how her acting work appears to have dried up before the pandemic took hold.”
Jones, who has been known to spice up quarantine with bikini selfies and occasionally flirty Instagram Stories, was clearly unbothered by the upcoming exposé. She captioned the screenshot, “S—t. They’ve discovered my secret. Consider this my public apology to my ‘friends.’”
Her followers were quick to come to her defense. “Bachelor” star Nick Viall, who once dated Jones, commented, “Sounds like they are mad you’re doing Instagram right.”
An hour after posting the screenshot, Jones couldn’t pass up the opportunity to show her “friends” how swimmingly things are going for her. She snapped a pic clad in a bright pink bikini with her middle finger raised, captioned “Had to do it. #DESPERATE”
Her famous followers joined in on the joke. Chrissy Teigen, who’s no stranger to internet clapbacks herself, commented, “It was me. I’m worried !!!!!!!!”
Diplo chimed in, “You are hot,” with Jones replying, “@diplo don’t feed the monster.”
It seems Jones’ “thirst” has yet to be quenched.
