The personal trainer charged with decapitating his two children also allegedly forced his two surviving kids to live alongside their older siblings’ bodies for five days, prosecutors said.
Maurice Taylor Sr. decapitated his 12-year-old son Maurice Jr., and 13-year-old daughter Maliaka inside their Lancaster home on Nov. 29, and made his two younger sons — ages 8 and 9 — live in view of their remains, prosecutors allege in court papers filed Tuesday.
Taylor also locked the younger boys in their rooms without food, according to court papers obtained by the Los Angeles Times.
Taylor was arrested Friday and later charged with two counts of murder and child abuse.
Police responded to the home on a report of a possible gas leak on Friday, and then found the decapitated bodies.
The gas leak was first reported by worried clients who told the Times they hadn’t heard from Taylor in days.
The mother of the children was home home when police arrived but is not a suspect, police said, adding that she is being questioned.
Taylor remains in jail and his bail has been set at $4.2 million.
He faces up to 57 years to life in prison. His arraignment is scheduled for Dec. 21.
